Wood and gold. Breath and Presence. Body and soul.
וְעָשׂוּ לִי מִקְדָּשׁ וְשָׁכַנְתִּי בְּתוֹכָם
“They shall make Me a sanctuary, and I will dwell in them.”
Shemos 25:8 — in them, not only in it
This site is a beginning. It is not the journey. The journey is your life — body and soul — returning, again and again.
A Mishkan is not only a feeling. It is wood and gold and also the Presence that fills them. Torah asks for both. The body is not an obstacle to Hashem. It is the place He asked to dwell.
You cannot be aligned with the Creator while you are a stranger to yourself. To connect truthfully, you have to know what you are actually carrying — not the story you tell, the thing that is there. Then the word Hineni is not a performance. It is a fact.
Live sitting
Show up in a body.
Sundays, 8:00 PM Eastern. 75 minutes. Camera on if you can — the mishkan is not only a voice. If you cannot be seen, come anyway.
Enter the sitting opens the video room now. Join on Zoom is for when the room is called with a Zoom ID — you will be told the ID in the cohort. Do not join a Zoom sent by a stranger.
The body
Sleep. Food. Breath. Walking. The hands. Rambam writes that keeping the body whole is part of the way of Hashem — not a secular extra. If the mishkan is neglected, the Presence has nowhere to sit.
Paraphrase of Rambam, Hilchos Deos 4:1
Tonight: one meal without a screen. One walk. Sleep as a mitzvah, not a leftover.
The soul
Pause. Presence. Return. Tears that face Him. The inner altar is real — and it is incomplete if it never reaches the body, the table, the people in the room.
The path of this guidebook
Today: one Sacred Pause. One honest sentence to yourself. Then one ordinary act with Shivisi.
Alignment with yourself
Then alignment with Him.
Know what you want and what you are afraid of. Do not spiritualize them away.
Know where you are not telling the truth — to yourself first.
Know the difference between merirus (broken, still facing Him) and atzvus (collapse). The body often tells you before the mind does.
Then say Hineni. Not as who you wish you were. As who you are.
Ritual
The Sacred Pause
1Place your hand gently over your heart.
2Close your eyes and breathe — not dramatically, just slowly.
3Whisper: Hineni. Here I am.
4Stay for three breaths. Don't reach for anything. Just receive.
Choose one moment today to pause intentionally. Before Shema. Before you speak. When something rises in your chest that you would usually push down.
