Week 05 of 8

Daily

Make one thing fixed. A tamid, not a peak.

In the sitting

Name the three-minute anchor you will keep. Same time if you can.

Ritual

Daily Anchor Practice

  1. 1Choose one anchor — a pasuk, a bracha, a niggun. Keep it simple enough to actually do.
  2. 2Set aside three minutes at the same time each day. Same time. Same place if possible.
  3. 3Show up. Even when you don't feel it. Especially when you don't feel it.
  4. 4Whisper: Hodu LaHashem ki tov — Give thanks to Hashem, for He is good. Mean it, or try to mean it. Both count.

Hodu LaHashem ki tov — Tehillim 136:1.

Between weeks

  • Three minutes, same time each day. A pasuk, a bracha, or a niggun.
  • Show up when you do not feel it. That is the week.

Awareness

Getting closer to Hashem doesn't begin with inspiration. It begins with awareness. Not deep thoughts. Not a feeling. Just awareness — of what I'm doing, what I'm saying, and what I'm thinking. Because most of life is lived on autopilot. And awareness is what breaks that.
